Architectural Alterations in Wellington

Alterations and additions, designed with care

Essence Architectural Design specialises in home alterations, additions and renovations. Whether you need more room for a growing family, a reconfigured layout for modern living, or a character home brought back to life, we design additions that blend seamlessly with the original building — merging traditional architecture with contemporary interiors.

Council and consent experience you can rely on

Alterations often involve the trickiest consent processes — building consents, and resource consents where sites demand them. We prepare full consent documentation for councils across Wellington, Lower Hutt and the Kāpiti Coast, and work closely with structural engineers to get designs approved. Our clients regularly tell us we took them from concept to Council-approved design with minimal stress.
